Fishermen's Village - The arrival

I left Sault St. Marie  Michigan and went only a short distance to Mackinaw Island where I spent the whole Labor Day weekend . Dining at The Grand Hotel  every evening and sleeping on my boat at the marina was a comforting start to a long  arduous  voyage.
After several horse rides and bicycle rides I had seen enough of the island and everything started to smell sugar and horse shit. Time to Go !
I looked at the massive suspended bridge and Do or Die , I went under it and headed south on Lake Michigan .  Me and my GPS
I could not find much information about the Mississippi , mainly because it is not a tourist friendly body of water and its purpose is  mostly for  servicing commercial barges.
By feeding the GPS information Chicago, Calumet  River , Ohio, ... All that remained to do was to  follow the waves , at least that seemed sensible enough. Nobody told me Lake Michigan had a huge bay , but my GPS finally convinced me after pointing an arrow to the north for a couple of hours.
I turned off the engine , looked at the charts and promoted my GPS to First Mate. These damn contraptions are smarter than we are ,they work with 5 or six brains up there somewhere above with the angels .
When I arrived at Fishermen's Village  I was greeted by Mary  and when I asked her for a docking space fro a year , she replied "What makes you think you can have a place for the night ? "
